Pre Owned Vintage 1979 D40SB Antique All Solid Acoustic Guitar, USA Made, W/OHSC

Gorgeous Vintage D-40 from Guild in Extremely Good Shape! Beautiful rare Antique finish sets it apart from similar models. Dialed In and Set Up In-Shop, plays great with low action! Rich tone from years of playing, very little finish wear for the age, a couple very tiny blems (pictured). Includes original hard shell case, which is a little road worn but fully functional with no issues.

The Guild D-40 was introduced in 1963 as the "Dreadnaught D-40" and was later renamed the "Bluegrass Jubilee D-40". The body of the guitar has remained the same, but the tuners and headstock logo have changed over time.

The D-40 has a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. It also has a vintage style rosette, tortoiseshell pickguard, white ABS binding, and Guild's peak logo inlaid on the headstock. The D-40 has a thin satin varnish finish that gives it a broken-in look and feel.

The D-40 is one of Guild's most beloved and revered models. It has a long history of producing an iconic sound and was used by a new generation of folk-rockers.

The D-40 is basically Guild's answer to a Martin D-18. It has a solid spruce top over solid mahogany back and sides and the back is flat and braced rather than press-arched like many other Guild products. Just like a Martin from the '70s, Guild dreadnoughts like to be picked hard to get the guts out of them, but once you're there you'll notice the great leap and drive that these guitars can have.
