Mark Hoza's Kything Flutes RARE Handmade Wooden Boehm Flute Headjoint w/Silver Tenon and Rings, Made in Australia

Mark Hoza Kything Flutes Handmade Wooden Boehm Flute Headjoint – Australia – Raised Lip Plate – Rare

Beautifully handcrafted wooden Boehm-system flute headjoint by respected Australian flute maker Mark Hoza of Kything Flutes.

This is a premium artisan-made headjoint featuring Hoza's desirable thinned-wall construction with a raised lip plate, a design intended to provide exceptional response while retaining the warm tonal characteristics of wood. According to the maker, this model is designed to fit Boehm-system concert flutes. As with many handcrafted headjoints, optimal fit may require minor adjustment by a qualified flute technician depending on the specific flute body.

Crafted from African Blackwood (Grenadilla), the headjoint exhibits excellent craftsmanship throughout, including precision-machined nickel silver tenon and reinforcing rings, a finely finished embouchure, and an attractive satin finish.

Kything Flutes are produced in relatively small numbers and are seldom encountered on the secondary market. In 2019, this thinned-wall/raised lip plate configuration carried a retail price of approximately USD $1,640, making it a serious professional-grade headjoint rather than a mass-produced accessory.
