DESCRIPTION
The Peavey Model 22XT Extended High-Frequency Compression Driver incorporates advanced adhesive and metallurgical technology, featuring an ultra-durable, aircraft-grade titanium diaphragm designed for high rigidity and transparency.
Each driver undergoes computer-based testing to ensure compliance with Peavey's specifications. The 22XT features a full 2-inch rigid diaphragm, providing low distortion and high power handling.
Its 500 Hz low-frequency cutoff extends the driver's usable range while maintaining excellent sound reproduction. The 22XT was designed as an upgrade to the original Peavey 22T and 22A compression drivers and is suitable for professional sound reinforcement, public address systems, and specialty applications.
APPLICATIONS
The Model 22XT was engineered for use with Peavey horns and integrated loudspeaker designs to achieve optimum performance.
It is also an excellent upgrade option for older systems, requiring minimal expense. Factory adapters were available through Peavey dealers for coupling the 22XT to the following horns:
- Altec 511B
- Altec 811
- JBL horns with 1-inch throats
The driver's high power-handling capacity and exceptionally smooth response allow extensive equalization without distortion caused by overload or diaphragm breakup.
